Telluride: Surrounded by steep forested mountains and jaw-dropping cliffs, Telluride rests in a protected box canyon. Soar above the forest floor on the free gondola connecting the picturesque town with its neighbor, Mountain Village. This mountain getaway is a 2 ½ drive from Deer Creek Village, it is home to the Telluride Film Festival and each year hosts the Telluride Balloon Rally.

Ouray: Enjoy the healing waters of the Ouray hot springs, discover Colorado history and interact with local wildlife, all within a short distance from home. Ouray is a 1 ½ drive from Deer Creek Village and is an ideal location for gentle hikes to Box Canyon Falls, 4-wheel drive excursions through Colorado wildflower explosions, or leisurely browsing the works for local artisans.

Durango: Home of the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad, a visit to Durango is like taking a step back in time. Brimming with restaurants and boutique shopping, the historic downtown offers something for everyone. Enjoy skiing at Durango Mountain Resort, fly fishing, rafting the Animas River, and mountain biking through Mesa Verde National Park; all are just a 3 hour drive from Deer Creek Village.

Paonia: Wine lovers won't want to miss the vineyards, orchards and organic gardens dotting the landscape around the small town of Paonia. Located only 45 minutes from Deer Creek Village, Paonia is the place for winery tours, tastings, and gourmet meals highlighting the local vintages.

Vail: It's nearly impossible to think of Colorado skiing without Vail coming to mind. Vail is a perfect weekend getaway for Deer Creek Village residents; a 3 hour drive takes you to the home of some of the best winter sports in the world. The fabulous skiing is coupled with an outstanding array of cultural activities including the annual Vail Film Festival, the Bravo! Music festival featuring the New York Philharmonic Orchestra and other outstanding groups, and the Betty Ford Alpine Gardens.

Glenwood Springs: Home to several ski resorts and popular summer sports, Glenwood Springs is a family-friendly destination just a 2 hour drive from Deer Creek Village. Casual cyclists can enjoy a recreational ride winding through the canyon, while more active mountain bike enthusiasts are sure to be challenged by the many trails that circle the rim of Glenwood Canyon. Since the Colorado River and the Roaring Fork River converge in Glenwood Springs, kayaking, river rafting and fishing are three excellent ways to enjoy the natural beauty of the area.
